Dec. 22nd 2011

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.

MR. CHANG AND MS. LANG ARE DOING A GREAT JOB TAKING OVER THE NORTH FOREST TENNIS TEAM--- I JUST TRY TO HELP OUT WHEN I CAN IN LITTLE WAYS.

THE LAST SIX MONTHS HAS BEEN A BIG ADJUSTMENT-----WITH DRAWING AND LET OTHERS TAKE OVER A PROGRAM THAT I WORKED ON TO MAKE SUCCESSFUL FOR SUCH A LONG TIME.

I HAVE GREAT GOOD MEMORIES.

WAYNE BRYAN STILL SENDS US BOXES OF CLOTHES, SHOES, SOCKS, ETC.

MADE SURE THE TOP 4 GUYS GOT STUFF AND MADE A GOOD IE BAG FOR OTHERS-- TOPS OR TENNIS STUFF--------TENNIS SWEAT BANDS, I LOVE TENNIS TO WEAR AROUND THE NECK--TENNIS PENS--ETC.

WILL BE MAKING A ANOTHER TRIP TO HAND OUT TENNIS CLOTHES FROM THE WAYNE BRYAN FAMILY AT THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.

THEY HAVE TWO TOURNAMENTS--- LOOKING FOR MORE.( NORTH FOREST)

I HAVE BEEN READING, WORKING IN MY GARDENS, TRYING TO GET THIS OLD HOUSE IN LIVABLE CONDITION. WE HAD WORK DONE OVER THREE YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS AT A BARBERS HILL TOURNAMENT IN THE FALL--------------------------PIPE BROKE IN THE BACK YARD AND FLOODED THE DOWN STAIRS AREAS--HUSBAND TOOK CARE OF ALL THAT REPAIR----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOW WITH THE KIDS COMING HOME------- TWO LEAKS IN CEILING-- A SHOWER AND SINK THAT HAS NOT WORKED IN MANY YEARS----------------------------------------------WE FOUND A GOOD PLUMBER--FEMALE , LIZ-----RECOMMENDED BY OUR BANKER--SON IN LAW TAI HAN----------------------------------------------------------------------THEY START NEXT WEEK--- FEEL BETTER ABOUT THE UP COMING REPAIRS BEING DONE BY PROFESSIONALS.

WE JUST CANNOT DO WHAT WE USE TO BE ABLE TO DO IN OUR YOUNGER YEARS--WHILE WORKING FULL TIME AND RAISING THREE KIDS.

HUSBAND STARTS TEACHING AT LONE STAR COLLEGE IN JAN. AND I PLAN TO USE THE WORKOUT ROOM AND WALK ALOT.

KNOW THAT I NEED TO MOVE MORE----GETTING TOO SLOW TOO FAST.

I WILL KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS AND PLAN TO VIEW A FEW MATCHES---KNOW THE LA SHAUN AND JONATHAN ARE PLANNING ON GOING TO REGIONAL AND STATE THIS YEAR----KNOW THAT THEY WILL GET GREAT SCHOLARSHIPS.

STILL GO ON TRIPS WITH RETIRED FRIENDS--A TRAIN RIDE IS PLANNED FOR SPRING BREAK--AND POLAND THE END OF MAY--GRAND DAUGHTER FINISHES HIGH SCHOOL AND HEADS FOR COLLEGE.

LIFE IS NEVER BORING.

LOVE,
RETIRED COACH LORETTA HRNCIR

Sept 30th

It has been a wild few weeks---- the team tennis team is coming together-- Axel Barron has left-- NF was not giving him a contract and he has a child to support-- --

Dorothy Lang was my assistant two years-- now assistant to Mr. Chang-- will work well with the girls as well as the boys-- she knows the tournaments and coaches------------------------------------------------------------

I will continue to work with UIL paperwork and clothes and ice, etc for the rest of the fall season----------I felt so good at GCM the 30th--- Mr. Chang is doing as amazing job-- he stepped up to the plate when no one else would-- and Dorothy Lang was always there-----------------------------------------------------------------------a rock.

I am going to back off more---they have it together-----------------------------------------I retired-- just did not want my program to vanish

They do not need me to follow them-----I have had my time in the sun-- it is their time in the sun.

We, all coaches, will go to Newks the first week of December--we will pay our own way--- hope to give I. Dutchover of Galena Park the Loretta Ann Hrncir Dedication Award. Such a fine--talent young man who is there for the kids.

It is Sat. morning and I realize that I worry too much at times---- have to back off more---- Husband and I are going to Galveston Sun and Mon. for our 41st Wedding Anniversary----------------------------------------------the time does fly.

Tennis Rocks!

Today is Sept 16: Alot has happened in a month

It was not until Sept 6th --when my tennis players did not show up at GCM---that I learned that there was no coach--no tennis coach--after my years of growth and hard work

Needless to say Mr. Chang and Mr. Barron stepped up to the plate and took over-- I gave Mr. Chang many books and videos to use---he is learning-- and Axel Barron---an ex student-- he is the assistant---- only because he does not have a degree.

I am taking care of UIL paperwork, physicals, issue uniforms and shoes, meeting deadlines--rescheduled GCM matches to Sept 30

The new coaches are trying--they just need to be firmer and not let the kids pull them apart--- no good cop--bad cop-- I did call the kids that went to the Davis Cup with me-----Worked with these folks--- don't let this program die------ I did not leave you---- I retired-- still helping and still planning on River Oaks and Davis Cup stuff---I think positive.

PLEASE WORK WITH THE NEW COACHES AND PRACTICE-- DO NOT GIVE EXCUSES--DO NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS--- YOU ARE LEADERS ON OUR CAMPUS.

LOVE, COACH HRNCIR

Tomorrow is Aug. 22nd-- First Day of School

Wish everyone a great school year and a super tennis season.

I worked for about 5 hrs. Friday morning at the Library-- Helping Ms. Cover son and Ms. Williamson---helping teachers--visiting-- putting up 6 bulletin Boards of FUN TENNIS STUFF FROM THE DAVIS CUP IN JULY.

Rita's collage was framed and went to the Admin. Building in July.

These are my best-- had so much to work with-- a great adventure and quest.

After teaching swimming for 6 weeks--went to San Antonio with college friend, Marg. Brown--then to DC with 9 yrs. old grand child to visit youngest son and his wife, Kelly---we had a great time and I feel like a walking machine.

Dr. gave me lots of exercises to do for my back----keeping busy---

Went to Taste of Texas tonight--celebrate 40 yrs-- an I do not report to work tomorrow-- praying for all the teachers, students and staff--- WE WANT NORTH FOREST ISD. TO BE STRONG AND NOT BE CLOSED-----

THIS YEAR WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

DO YOUR BEST EVERY DAY.

LOVE, COACH HRNCIR

Aug. 5th; TOOK A LARGE PICTURE FRAME TO

ADMINISTRATION TO DISPLAY---- Rita, my high school tennis partner at Jeff Davis in the 60's was our guide in Austin for the Davis Cup-------we were blessed to have her-- figured out where to park our big bus for free--knew all the shorts cuts and got us in contact with Mike Center--the UT Tennis Coach-- Jae, #1 in 2011 North Forest Class, is going to UT-- and with band and baseball---he still wants to try to play tennis.

Rita ordered and donated the collage---to us----- I took it to Hobby Lobby to have it framed---- folks are great--- helped me pick out the perfect frame to match the trim-----

Took it to Supt and staff-- and they were very impressed------so proud of our great adventure.
( Had already mailed them photos that I took---- just like I mailed to each person who attended our quest in Austin)

After they finish with it--- will take it to our school library. In the mean time I am working on photos for six bulletin boards for North Forest's Library.

Want to finish before I leave for DC next week-- Lien , 9 year old grand daughter, and I are going for a week to visit our youngest son, Sean, a marine stationed in Maryland and DC. His sweet bride, Kelly will show us around and keep us busy.

I have enjoyed the freedom of not going back to work----but after 40 years---- it still hurts a little---- husband says that I am getting use to not getting up at 4:30 a.m. in the morning-------but, I stay up later---- it is 2:30 a.,,m and I head to West Columbia tomorrow to visit my mother in law------ only Mom that we still have to love on--- we hit the hot spots, Dillard's and Big Lots.

Stay safe---- we usually practice a week before school starts------ need to check with Athletics? School does start Aug. 22nd.

We are praying that we do not have to be combined with HISD--- NFISD is a good district---- just so much mess in the past-------------------------pulling together--- parents and the community standing up----we do not want to be dis solved after over 50 years of being a independent school district.

Think Positive.

e mail me-- I will miss all of you. lahrncir@hotmail.com
You will always be a new success in my book.
Love, Coach

Today is Aug. 3rd: Houston Texas

After six weeks of teaching swimming for Klein High-- My college roommate, Marg and I left for San Antonio---her daughter's beagle had been killed by a car-- 20 miles form the house--- she is the one that got Marg. and I to get beagles-- Digger and Mandy.

Anyway, she needed us and and we needed a break---- First time is my life that I had been away from home for six days--- was a great experience--- we walked--- 4 our 5 missions---state parks----traveled the Hill Country-------shopped--- sat in lawn chairs in the water--- climbed Enchanted Rock---- Made it to the last set of boulders--- could go no more---air was thin and we were go red faced------ felt that if we made it to the top-- we couldn't get down alive.

We returned Sat. afternoon and I have had alot of naps----------when you are use to working for 40 years--- it is hard--- to catch up on your rest----my body says rest rest rest---

Rita, high school tennis partner at Jeff Davis, made a great collage of the main events of the Davis Cup---had it framed and plan to put it up in administration. Still working on six bulletin boards for the Library.

Aug 10 thur 17th-- I will be traveling to DC with grand daughter Lien--- a great adventure.

Just hard to realize that I will not be going back to teach.

My last year was my most rewarding and the hardest. Need a young person who will continue our program-----someone who cares---I have great kids----- and expect Jonathan and La Shaun to go back to Regionals.

Life is never boring.

Please do not call me about who is taking my place--- I was promised that they would find a dedicated person to replace me.

I am thankful for the Wayne Bryan Family--NFISD & my many great memories.

Love, Coach H

A GREAT ADVENTURE-- LOTS OF GREAT TENNIS AND B & M WERE A WINNING TENNIS MACHINE--- TAKING OUT SPAIN SAT. JULY 9TH.

IT IS NEARLY TIME FOR ME TO GET READY TO TEACH SWIMMING AT KLEIN HIGH-- SO A BRIEF SUMMARY.

Rita Hanson, my friend since high school, took us on an action packed three days. Besides watching great tennis matches at the Erwin Center, we toured Austin, the State Capital, Hyatt, Boat Ride on Lake Bird Lake, Bats, Poop, ( good luck) Museum, UT tennis center and head Coach Michael Center and Staff, etc.

Rita made sure that our bus had good parking spaces---boned with out players and kept us in line.

Coach Lang & I enjoyed the adventures and our players.

Special Thanks to NFISD and Wayne Bryan Family for providing us with experiences to last a life time.

MY LAST GREAT EVENT WITH NF TENNIS PLAYERS----EXCEPT WHEN THEY GO TO STATE------------------I RETIRED MAY 31ST---- COULD NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE ONE MORE GREAT ADVENTURE.

June 15th: Wed.- Summer Swimming classes at Klein High

Monday the 13th was the first day of Session I------ a mess-- kids in wrong classes--- ( non swimmers in Advanced) Parents who did not follow directions----must sign up the first week in May in person at the school in which you want to take classes--No web site-- no calls--etc. I heard every excuse in the book-- but the majority were positive. I do not have the students helpers that I usually have--- but it has worked out--because many parents are getting more involved.

60 kids in six classes-- start at 7:20 in the a.m.-- 10 min. break between classes.

Never a dull moment---excitement every every every class--- but the morning passes fast and I love my snack and nap--- 4 hrs this afternoon----I am blessed with good health

Monday-- my super grandpa ( had grand kids in my classes for over 3 years) fell in trying to help me adjust the lanes--- he is fine--- I was on the other end of the pool--- and it seemed to happen in slow motion-----thank goodness that he he had taken out his billfold and cell phone-------------------from now on--- we do not change the lanes in the afternoon and the pool worker helps me in the a.m. to adjust the lanes.

Life is full of adjustments.

Margaret is my super friend from college--- she sees things from up on top that I miss---we work well together and the parents respect her expertise and knowledge----------------------------------------------she does a great job with the paper work and keeping count of all the heads in the pool---- It is an indoor pool-------have to roll up doors for some kind of air--- and the pool is heated-- couldn't ask for anything better.

Tues and Wed. were great days-- no one could switch classes--- no one can enter--- we are booked for the rest of the summer--- three Sessions--- booked solid--- DO NOT ASK to get in a class-- safety issue. I am glad that parents want their children with us--------------------------------------------------but, we are people who care and don't want to lose a child.

I never lost a child in 40 years of teaching---NOT starting now.

Thursday will be the best day yet----------------------------------last day this week--- no classes on Friday--- and a three day weekend---- will probably take the grandkids to West Columbia to visit my mother in law-Friday-------------------DON'T FORGET FATHER'S DAY SUNDAY-------ALL OUR FATHER'S ARE VIP.

LOVE, COACH HRNCIR

June 12th 3:30 a.m.

It has been a week of adjusting to not getting up at 4:30 in the morning--- a week of resting, working in my garden, going back up to school to re hang the screens that were falling down, check the security of the tennis area, visit my dear friend, Sara Williamson at the library--made a dentist appointment-- got a massage-- bought more used books at Half Priced Books--got rocks for my ex dog's grave by the back patio---watered my garden, picked tomato's, exercised in my gazebo that my husband put up for my Birthday----shopped at Big Lots--- helped daughter with three girls when she was sick----visited my neighbor--Mr. Hudson. Mrs. Carol Hudson died a week before the retirement banquet-- Lupas and double pneumonia-- she was such a kind and gentle lady who gave us donations of food and drinks for the tennis players--- we gave her and her husband a Helping Hands Award in 2010.

Our dear daughter in law, Kelly Hrncir, flew in from Maryland Thursday. We are enjoying her while we have her--- always busy-- those young folks.

Next week is the beginning of six weeks of swimming classes at Klein High School. This is my 17th year and I am booked well in advance-- packed-- no walk ins. My high school friend Marg. will run the front desk & help everything run smoothly. Can't let her in the pool--- she is always in demand-----we both wear hearing aids------she always clues me in when I am in the pool.
We have always had a good program.

Also,Davis Cup adventures are around the bend-- July 8th, 9th and 10th-- Austin Texas--- USA VS SPAIN. We are thankful that the Wayne Bryan Family is providing us tickets and hotel reservations. North Forest will provide us transportion and meal money if at all possible.

THIS IS MY LAST BIG ADVENTURE AS HEAD COACH--- I AM THRILLED.

AD for Klein was very positive about the minor changes to my swimming schedule due to use leaving July 8th-- Blessed to have great folks in my life.

Guess I'll try to go back to sleep till church time.
I am blessed.

REMEMBER A SLOGAN THAT COACH LANG GAVE ME: IT'S NOT WHERE YOU GO IN LIFE, IT'S WHO YOU HAVE BESIDE YOU THAT MATTERS.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING

COACH LORETTA ANN HRNCIR

Sunday, June 5, 2011

June 3rd was my check out day.

Nice lunch---everyone stood and clapped ---plaque's-- kind words and gifts from administration & staff-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hard to walk away-- but I promised to help out and to continue to get used balls & used rackets------------------------------------------kids made it all a great quest---------------------40 years have flown by-------------------it is time.

The following was a face book-- from my husband and my high school doubles tennis friend, Rita Maldonado Hanson-- semi retired--counselor from Austin ISD

FINAL COUNTDOWN: FOR LORETTA ANN BLALOCK HRNCIR If you have given 40 years of your life to over 10,000 students, inspired and motivated them, fed, clothed, transported, furnished homes, and taken into your OWN home those in need, prevented arrests and suicides, and treated all as your own family, YOU ARE ready to retire from teaching! ( Husband Robert)

Rita added: If you have found volunteers and mentors to assist your program, written and received grants to supplement a non existence budget for your program, recruited professional sponsors-- Wayne Bryan Family-- traveled all over the United States and Europe to attend Davis Cups, always with students in tow, advocated for students with disabilities and kept the motivational climate up on your campus, you have EARNED RETIREMENT! (Rita Hanson)

PS. Let us not forget the great adventures over the years at Westside Tennis Center & River Oaks Country Club.

I have been very blessed to have great folks in my life.
