September 27th: Proud of how everyone handled our lock down situation Friday!

SOMEONE WAS SHOOTING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND SOMEONE FROM THAT SITUATION WAS DROPPED OFF AT SCHOOL.

WE WERE IN A TOTAL LOCK DOWN FOR OVER 3 HOURS-- MY BIG THIRD PERIOD WERE AWESOME---BETWEEN SOME Old MUSICALS AND MEN IN BLACK--WE SURVIVED---- BIGGEST SCARE WAS THE ARMED POLICEMEN IN THE HALLS AND KNOCKING ON OUR DOOR-----WE WERE NOT HIDING ANYONE AND THEY WERE DOING THEIR JOB----EVERYONE REMAINED CALM--- SEEING THOSE WEAPONS MADE ME BITE MY BOTTOM LIP. AGAIN, I WAS SUPER PROUD OF THE STUDENTS & TEACHERS WHO WORKED TOGETHER WITH ADMIN. TO HANDLE A SERIOUS SITUATION.

COACH HRNCIR AND ABOUT 7 PLAYERS STAYED TO PRACTICE AFTER SCHOOL -- I LEFT AT 4 TO GET A COUPLE OF FOLKS HOME AND TO RUN TO THE BANK AND HELP 7 YEAR OLD GRANDCHILD GET TO KARATE ON TIME.

Lien wants to be great like Jonathan Ceron--- he is a pro in Karate, as well as tennis.

We play Galena Park tomorrow--we go there--- they have a lot of beginners, just like we do and are looking forward to us coming. We are bringing balls and Coach Lang has been getting folks to give us bottled water to travel. Special thanks to Bus Barn Folks, Parents and Ruben---who donated bottled water.

HOPEFULLY, WE WILL HAVE A FULL TEAM--- TWO MORE LADIES PROMISED TO GET PHYSICALS THIS PAST WEEKEND.

WE LEAVE AT 2:10 FROM THE TENNIS COURTS.

Also, our AD is getting bids to get our courts fixed-----wanted this to happened before I die.

See you tomorrow.

September 21th: Kingwood Park Tennis Courts; A TERRIBLE STORM CAME ROARING IN WITH LIGHTENING AND DARK CLOUDS

We had started the doubles matches and were about 30 min. into the team tennis doubles and a horn sounded to call off all sports-- storms coming.

WE GOT ON THE BUS AND LEFT-- BY THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WE FOUND OUT THAT THE LIGHTS WERE OUT---MS. LANG DID A GREAT JOB GETTING US OUT OF THE INTERSECTION AND THEN-- RIGHT IN FRONT OF US--A PINE TREE FELL-- BY THE GRACE OF GOD- IT MISSED THE BUS BY LESS THAN 12 INCHES. GLASS COULD HAVE BEEN EVERYWHERE AND MS. LANG AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN HURT.

CAME BACK TO OUR SIDE OF TOWN AND THE SUN WAS OUT--- KIDS STAYED TILL 6:00.

WE PLAN TO GO BACK WED. TO MAKE UP WHAT WE MISSED-- IF THE WEATHER PERMITS US TO PLAY.

EXCITEMENT----THESE STORMS ARE POPPING UP EVERYWHERE.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE ACTION.

Sept. 14: We played Crosby at a Country Club in Crosby-- 4 courts--

Ja Marcus Payto and Derwin Williams defeated Crosby in two sets------#2 seeds

Ja Marcus turned around and went three sets with #1 Singles Seed and after hours-- boiled down to a tie breaker-- 9--11--- We are proud of Ja Marcus-----could have gone either way.

Proud of every one's achievements.

Many folks got their first set of the season and first games.

Crosby was really nice to us-- like in the country--many trees---a great environment. Parents of Crosby players were very supportive to both teams.

WE NEED MORE LADIES-- SPREAD THE WORD.

COACH HRNCIR

Thanks Coach Lang for helping get kids home that did not have a ride-- you took alot of pressure off of me------------this will be a long day for me and Goals Night at NFHS.

September 11th, 2009: Team Tennis/Etc.

Last Tuesday against Barbers Hill we took six guys and one girl. Rachel was sick and many had not gotten their physicals. Ja Marcus won his match in singles-- everyone else did their best.

This week has nearly been a wash out due to the much needed rain.( Dry weather made a pipe crack in our backyard--2 in. of water in house Tues night--Husband has been working with insurance folks and plumbers---coming home late at night to a nightmare-- life is never boring)

Still having trouble with 7th period athletic class----scrambled schedules and students who have no desire to play tennis ( too hot, no physical, where are the ball boys and girls?) have been lost.
Hopefully schedules will will changed soon, we are starting our 4th week of school.

My Health classes are super----cannot fuss at all. We are completing that TNT-- anti tobacco program and students are very open in discussions and role playing activities.

We are always needing hard working tennis players-- come out to the tennis courts any afternoon after school. Yes, there is heat, running and no ball girls and boys. HA

We leave at 2:00 Monday to play Crosby--- will be at a country club in Crosby or local San Jacinto College-- We are home team and usually travel--- but late confirmation on use of San Jacinto College Tennis courts-- have e mailed coach-- will know Monday.

Glad Bob and Mike made it to the Quarter Finals at the US Open----So proud of what they have accomplished in their professional tennis adventures. We are proud to be their adopted school for over ten years.

Progress reports due Monday---- the six weeks is almost over. Will do better with the tennis up dates. These last three weeks have been busy busy busy with starting of school.

Coach Lang and I are signed up for Newks in Dec. This coaching clinic is where I met, Wayne Bryan, the Dad of Bob and Mike over ten years ago. Blessing are everywhere.

Coach Hrncir

PS: Paw Print, school newspaper came out today-- I am honored to be teacher of the month. Be sure to get a copy-- the young man who interviewed me was so on top of his game.
