Feb. 8th: GCM Tennis Tournament

Cold , but no rain--- a change from Jan.'s Tournament--------Coach Lang got got us soup at noon and it warmed us inside---- tasted so so so good.

Jannesha won first place in B Singles Singles--

Rachel Hall won 2nd in consolation-- A G S 's-- our top girl and a senior-----been with me for 4 years-- her year to excel. Taught her sister and brother in law-- nice to have a family who loves tennis-- a joy to our program. We had a problem with directions Tues. afternoon-------------------Baytown --- she came to the front of the bus-- told us not to worry-- she knew this area-- and had us laughing and joking as we picked up our last 4 players at Baytown Lee High School----------------------- Coach H tends to panic when I can't find a location----------have never lost a child in 40 years-- don't plan on this happening before I retire in May.

Jannesha had played doubles for two years----------her partner transfered to another school and this was her first time to play singles and she shined--------------------------------------------------------------------GOING TO BE A NET SUCCESS IN BAND & TENNIS--------------------------------------------------------GOING TO BE A LEADER HER LAST TWO YEARS-------------------------BLESSED TO HAVE HER IN OUR TENNIS PROGRAM.

NO PRACTICE WED.-- TODAY ?WE WILL WAIT--- BELOW FREEZING THIS A.M.---, BUT, SO FAR--WE DO HAVE SCHOOL. REASON THAT I GOT UP AT 4:30 WAITING FOR CALL, JUST IN CASE-- ALWAYS TEXT MY KIDS--- SO THAT THEY K NOW-- NO SCHOOL.
LAST FRIDAY--TEACHERS AND STUDENTS CAME UP TO SCHOOL IN 2 INCH OF ICE--BUT NOT MY TENNIS PLAYERS.

C.E. KING FEB. 24TH

I WILL BE ABSENT 17TH--- LEADERS WILL TAKE OVER--------------GOING TO AUSTIN TO TURN IN ALL PAPERS TO RETIRE---- 3 HRS. UP AND 3 HRS BACK IN ONE DAY--HUSBAND WILL DRIVE-- HAS A GPS-- WILL NOT GET LOST.
